Saudi Arabia calls on the Security Council to hold the Houthis accountable after the targeting of Abha airport

Saudi Arabia confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that it will take all necessary measures to preserve its lands and the safety of its citizens and residents in accordance with its obligations under international laws, according to what the Saudi Press Agency quoted, according to a letter to its representative to the United Nations, Abdullah Al-Mouallami, to the UN Security Council, after the terrorist Houthi militia targeted Abha airport International.

In the letter, Al-Mouallimi said that, based on instructions from his government, "I write again regarding the continuing military hostilities committed by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in flagrant violation of international law and relevant Security Council resolutions."

Al-Muallami stressed that this terrorist act that targets civilian infrastructure and threatens innocent civilian travelers is a heinous war crime, for which the Houthi militia must be held accountable in accordance with international humanitarian law.

And he added, "The Kingdom will take all necessary measures to preserve its lands and preserve the safety of its citizens and residents, in accordance with its obligations under international laws."
